Raphael Forrer – Project Curacao
My father is Swiss and my mum is German and they decided to move to Austria as missionaries, a country where post-modernism and dead, catholic traditions prevail. I grew up in Austria all my life and had the privilege of finding Christ very early because of my parents. Through most of my childhood I did not have any friends that were believers but God has had a way of growing and protecting me nonetheless.
My high school degree in Austria included learning a trade: Electronical Engineering. After working as a ski and snowboard instructor, a lifeguard, and website designer, I decided to fulfill a dream of mine and go to a Bible College. I could not think of a better place to study the Bible than Israel itself, and so I applied to the Israel College of the Bible. It was there that my interest in deep and thorough studies of the Bible was sparked. It has developed in a passion of mine to help believers in understanding the importance of the Old Testament and the Jewish Background of our faith for our lives today.
After finishing my one-year degree in Messianic studies in Israel, I transferred to Moody Bible Institute. I am currently a senior in a Bachelor of Arts degree with an interdisciplinary in biblical languages. It is my goal to work in missions but I would like to get my masters in order to be better prepared for the challenges that lay ahead.
