Kevin Illidge – Project Curacao
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).
That has been my life verse ever since I became a Christian. Before that, I was as devout of a Roman Catholic as my mom would let me be, going to church every Sunday, reading my Bible, and having an active prayer life. However, in all my years growing up in the Roman Catholic Church, I felt like there was more to life than mere routine. After an amazing turn of events that led my mother back to Christianity, I was hit with the truth of God’s saving grace, and I was never the same.
I never thought I would be at Moody Bible Institute, let alone having this dream of reaching the next generation with the wondrous truth of Scripture through a college institution. After forfeiting my dream to become a dentist, God showed me an even bigger dream: the building of a sound Bible college in Curaçao in an attempt to educate not only Curaçao’s young adults but to also enrich churches in the area.
Today, I am amazed at the unfolding of this dream. I am currently a junior in the Bachelor of Arts in Bible degree at MBI-Spokane and am eagerly awaiting the next step of going to seminary to study the New Testament more in depth. My hope is to impact the next generation with sound theological education, wherever God might place me.
